I was explaining to my 5 year old daughter that I didn't ask Santa for any models because I couldn't squeeze any more into the shelves allocated for my stash.

"I know Daddy, " she said "Instead of asking Santa for a model ask him for another set of shelves, then you can fit lots more models in"

Ahh, you see Pat, your problem is not so much in the available shelf space, but in the stacking. If you use the 'inverted pyramid', you can utilise the empty space to the right...

And what is the 'wingy thing' doing there?? Have you no shame Sir? You could fit another AFV in there. How about a Sherman?

You just need to be better organized. Sort of like this:

But there is ALWAYS room for more lol.

I can only plea that It was a bargain at €6 in a charity shop
Actually the rest of my stash is spread around the house still in the shipping boxes from Lucky model and HLJ

Smart kid.
Neat arrangement according to box size works for me.
(if you believe that, I have a bridge for sale!)

Very logical reply. Sometimes the simple answer is the best

Make sure she tells SWMBO this so you have an excuse to increase the stash. Also remind her that when she's older and married you'll remind her about saying that when her future hubby wants more.

Darryl- I don't understand the whole stash thing. You've got your own hobby store right there for goodness sake. Thats almost a lifetime supply! So why do you do it, why don't you buy as you go, when you need to? I never have more than around 12 kits in my 'stash' but then again, I take things slow and I have no money. Amazing all the less.

My stash is a little bigger than Darryl's and there is a logic to it. I only buy kits I intend to build. I would rather pay 20 - 30% off retail now and put it on a shelf than have to pay 3 times the MSRP on eBay a few years from now.

Matt

So size matters?? lol sorry I couldn't resist. But it so nice to walk up to the stash, open kits, dream about that colour scheme you will use etc, when ever you want.

I´ve got 3 kits in my stash ( & a plentiful spares box) because I KNOW that my wife would do a ninja job on me whilst I sleep if I had any more unfinished kits hanging around. Even though I agree with the logic of all of the afore mentioned I dare not play with fire!
