My grandfather served overseas in the Marine Corp during the First World War. He passed away before I was old enough to appreciate what that meant. Really wish I had gotten to know him better.

So many went, so few left.
I was surprised to read that the fellow who was the oldest, before Coffey, also passed away earlier this year at the age of 115.
