G'day guys,
I'm new here so I thought I'd start with a curly one.
Has anybody tried to blacken their white metal tracks with products like "Blacken-IT" or Brunel's "Black Magic".
I've had trouble sourcing this type of product here in Aust.
I finally found a Model Train store "TrainWorld", that can sell me some "Black magic".
Anyone used this product before?
Any hints or anything to watchout for?
Cheers
Tim

G'day Tim, I have used blacken it on tracks only once before and I found that it was more a waste of time and money. I found that you have to be spot on otherwise your tracks will either not be fully done or they will be over done and the will have a rust like build up. Watch it when you handle them afterward cos the finish comes off easy. I still use fruil tracks when I can but I just paint them now cos its cheaper and eaiser to weather. Hope that helps.
