Just got home from my favorite LHS, Skyway Hobbies in Renton Wa, My wife asked me what "model stuff" I wanted this year and after several attempts at explaining, I concluded she wasn't getting it. I proposed we drive to Skyway where I would pick out things I wanted, set them on the counter and go out to the car. Then she could pick my gifts from the pile and stay within our budget keeping it a surprise until the 25th. Talk about a win-win situation. She has always supported my "affliction" but the kits she has historically picked were not really things I was interested in. No matter what she decided to get, it is something I want!

Nice idea, great wife!
On a lighter note, several years ago one of the ex's (there are way to many to properly give numbers and credit!
) handed me the Squadron flier, and had me do the same thing. Surprisingly she got me everything I marked. Had I known that I would have been a little greedier.

I buy all my prezzies online, and when I come home from work they´re wrapped under the Christmas tree. As its myself paying for them I can be as greedy as I like, but as the missus claims she has to get the equivelent, it does not tend to get too carried away.
Although I know exactly what Im getting ... I havent had the chance to inspect them ... and everybody knows that what gives us modellers the "high"!
I guess, my missus is just pleased, I have an innocent hobby!
Just ask her ... whats the point on paying good money for something shes not interested in. Other than that, jewellry is never wrong!

Somebody in my "extended family" once said "You're the hardest person to buy a gift for".
How can that be??? They all know my hobby!
Buy me a model. Or paint or even just a tube of glue!

My wife does the same thing. She tells me to order some goodies from Lucky Model, I put them in the 'cart" and she will order them for me
) She likes the fact that I am home and not getting into trouble
lol

My wife and I decided not to get each other anything this year and just concentrate on the kids and nieces and nephews. She buys whatever she wants throughout the year and so do I (mostly e-bay, Squadron, Greatmodels, HLJ and any local show that I can attend). For Birthdays, however, she just gives me the "moohlah" and tells me to go wild.
It's a good arrangement!
