when you have your spares box, do you have like all the parts in one box? like just all armor parts, regardeless of what type of vehicle it came from.

or, do you have it seperated, like say, all roadwheels in one box, things like that.

I separate by scale and usually keep guns separate. I have a bunch of medicine bottles for some of the smaller things.

I've got about a dozen clear "shorboxes" from the dollar store and I break everything up into catagories like sci-fi -armor-figures - unfortunately I also have a huge box for misc until I quit being lazy and sort it all.

I have sort mine by tracked/wheeled vehicle, then seperate boxes for figures. It can get a little overwheliming holding onto all those extra goodies.

you can see my spare part organizers on the left side of the pic. organized by "part" lights, ammo cans, welding gas bottles, Etc.

the ones "head on" toward the right side are Weapons & Figures.

I do mostly figures, I'll separate parts by scale, body part( heads arms, legs,ect...), weapons then after a month or two they are all in a big heep in the middle of my work space, after a year or so I'll separate the whole mes again.

At the moment, I have my spares organised into scale (in my case, 1/100,1/144 and 1/35).

I also have left overs (such as conversions and stuff of the ilk) from specific kits grouped together so I can use them on other kits and in other future projects.

I have 4 pretty big sized plastic storgae boxes. Allied, German, Russian and figures. Inside these are smaller boxes divided up with Pzr IV family, Sherman, stowage, etc. Also lots of small zippy bags with smaller pieces, etc.

Drawers, Storage Bins, Plastic containers...I've got nearly 40 years worth of spare parts collecting. I have several large totes of parts waiting to be sorted and stored. Here's a shot of my working spares. The rest are elsewhere in the workshop.

I buy those clear plastic parts trays with tight lids from the "dollar store", and then sort the parts as Allied / Axis, weapons, figures, vehicle equipment, etc.

Well, for the time being the onlt parts I have are NASCAR parts and many spare aircraft parts of difference scales. Until I have more room to add a multi-drawer thing, all my parts are in one box. The tires and extra decals are in my toolbox with my current builds.

I limit myself to cars and trucks all of 1/24-25th scale, so all my spares just get thrown in an empty model box.

Wow, some of you guys have massive workspaces (i.e Matt and Gerald!)

I have three seperate compartments to keep my spares in: Armour, Aircraft, Ships and Figures. I like to model in all those genres.

My shop has a storage system similar to Gerald's that I got for next to nothing when my old company switched storage systems for small parts. I have about 200 bins hanging off a wire mesh screen and they are about 1/2 parts and 1/2 tools & supplies. I tend to organise the parts by subject manner as opposed to scale. It's about 95% AFV stuff as I haven't built aircraft or cars for over 20 years.

Here area couple of photos of the shop. The bulk of the spares are in the grey bins on the wall with additional bits in the plastic drawer units tucked in here and there.
