Because of a downturn in projected taxes Irish Customs Service are taking an interest in goods purchased outside the European Community and they have said they are going to target goods bought online from , Since I buy all my kits online HLJ or Luckymodel this may mean an end to my growing stash.

Not much of a drinker- the good news is My Academy M7 and 2 Tasca M4A1s arrived just now without any hindrance.

On the radio news Customs are now saying that they are going to be checking on what people have bought on weekend shopping trips to New York which are very popular here in the run up to Christmas because of the strength of the Euro against the dollar.

hi We have the same problem in the UK anything bought outside the EU , is subject to tax if the value is over £18-00 this now includes postage . So much for free trade inside and outside the EU. Lets start writing to our eu MP and get this lecvel raised to a least £100 , After all I could if so minded hire a white van drive to france fill up with booze and fags worth several 1000's of £ and not pay a single extra penny of tax. but a hobby is taxed to the hilt . cheers ian

Why? Are you going to send me some of your stash Dave to ease the pain?

I think that a lot of people here are taking advantage of low airfares and the strong Euro to go to NY and buy a lot of high end goods which stricyly speaking are liable to tax.

have luckymodel declare your shipment as a gift with low value. Inform youself on custom regulations. In canada, anything made in U.S or mexico will not be taxed due to the FTA. Furthermore, if your recieve a "gift" marked at a value inferior to 60$, it will not be submitted to taxes. However, if its not declare as a low valued gift, you need to pay custom, brokage, and applicable taxes. If your dealing with ups, watch out for the nasty bill!

I havn't had problems ordering from luckymodel, but i do get worried when i order paintball gear from the states...
Worth informing youself!
