Making Barbed Wire

You could also try the Games Workshop packs of barbed wire. Although a different scale it might be passable.

HUDSEN & ALLEN make real 1/35 scale barbed wire, but you can make it yourself, bit tedious but a lot cheaper if you need a lot of it.

RMG makes excellent real barbed wire in 1/35--Mission Models carries it:

...although they appear to be out of stock at the moment...

I will definately try making my own barbed wire for my next WWII project, but is there a good way to make modern razor wire? It seems that all OIF vehicles have a coil or rtwo of razor wire attached some whee on the vehicle! I am in the process of building a OIF Bradley and Abrams and would like to include.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Joe,

To make razor wire you need to pick up some plastic window screen, not the wire or individual strands. Next take a section of the screen and with a Xacto knife cut down both sides of one vertical strand. Once painted it is pretty convincing. There was an artical i found one it but cant remember were i saw it....sorry

Hope this helps

If you can find it - "The Complete Modelling Workshop" by Stan catchpol is one io=of the finest books written - they have a way of making Barbed Wire that is the absolute best - but be careful it will cut just like the real stuff - trust me I know- Het they have it at Amazon-

Ive done that, but it looks more like ww2 barbed wire than razor wire. unless you used something else.

I use this method to make mine. Really good looking in the end IMO.
Cheers!
