I'm trying,in the ongoing saga of my father's military history, to find out about the weapon he used. As of yet I haven't found all that much information about this AA gun.
I want the information to do a Vinette of the subject. I've found actual pictures of different emplacements, but the gun isn't well detailed - the people of the pics are the interesting part...
Hope to tap into the vast knowledge found here!!
Thanks in advance!!!

Where would one go or ask to get drawings or such for it??? I'm not even sure who made it!!
Thanks again for any help!!!

Brian - need to know a little more about the weapon. Was it truck mounted or towed? Any other particulars?

This site has a not so good photo of a 3in A/A Gun. Also, photos of the director and height finder. I hope this is what you want.

Gunnie, I wish I knew. I've seen information showing the type to be "M3" or "M2A1", with that being a fixed and mobile unit respectively. I know what it is not, it is not the 3-inch/50 Cal used on Navy ships... but that basically is all I know without going to Corregidor...
Keenen and Charles, thanks for the links - I'm going to look into them a little deeper. They were very informative!!
Again I appreciate all you have done!!

Brian - here's a link to US Coastal Defense artillery used in WW II - and in the Pacific. Perhaps the particular gun can be found there...
