I have been active on this forum for a couple of weeks, so I think it is in order that I introduce myself:
I am 56 years old, having been a modeller for close to 50 years withouth interruptions!
Prior to retirement last year, I served as a Major in the Swedish Air Force. Although having a background in our national Air Force, my main modelling interest is RAF and FAA, including the the Commonwealth Forces during WWII, strictly in God's scale, i.e. 1/72. Secondary interest is NATO in the same scale. The last couple of years I have also aquired an interest in very large ships with many big guns, i.e. battleships, in 1/350 scale.I have been a member of IPMS Sweden since 1970, and in 2001 had the honour of beeing appointed honorary lifetime member in recognition of my involvment in the Swedish IPMS National Exhibition for 20 years. Nowadays I have sort of retired to the role of "elderly statesman", and only do impartial judging
at modelling competitions. Now that I have retired, I have a vain hope of building many more models than during previous years. But I have to admit that I will most likely never finnish all the 1000+ kits (+ loads of decals and other aftermarket products) in my stash during my lifetime.
Still, I will give it a try!
Unfortunately from mid April to mid October a lot of time for modelling is lost, due to my love of the wonderful game of golf.
