One of my boys and I have watched American football for years over here on TV.
We always wanted to get over to see the Dolphins play but could never afford the expence let alone get hold of a ticket or two.
As it turns out the Dolphins are coming to me instead
They're playing a regular season game in London today and we're off to London in about an hours time. Should be good.
(My boy actually supports the Bills but we can't have everything.

All the best

Enjoy the game.
To get into the spirit, you'll need to learn to do 10 simple things.
1. Drink excessively, use vulgar language, and make a real a^^ of yourself.
2. Paint your face and various body parts in the teams colors.
3. Drink excessively, use vulgar language, and make a real a^^ of yourself.
4. Buy large foam fingers, goofy hats, pennants, and yearbooks.
5. Drink excessively, use vulgar language, and make a real a^^ of yourself.
6. Do the WAVE.
7. Drink excessively, use vulgar language, and make a real a^^ of yourself.
8. Jump on field and intercept a pass, especially if your team is losing, always fun, and really gets the crowd cheering. Also streaking always breaks the monotony of a boring game and you'll probably appear on TV.
9. Drink excessively, use vulgar language, and make a real a^^ of yourself.
10. Drink excessively, use vulgar language, and make a real a^^ of yourself, and have son drive you home... son is also good for making bail for you after intercepting pass or streaking.

Above all have a good time.

I would not suggest this unless you think you can out run Michael Strahan.

Hope you enjoy the game. Giants defense is really good but the Dolphins, well, not so much.

If can can catch the Colts Pats game next week it should be a shoot out.

Shaun

Leaving for the local bar to watch the Colts play at Carolina, get drunk, yell vulgarities at the DH TV and make an A^^ out of myself...

Hi Dave

Yep loved every minute of it, great experience. A shame the Dolphins didn't win but I didn't really expect them to. Really hope they do it again next year.

Funny you should say that, there was a streaker, shame was that it was a bloke. He managed to do about four press ups in the middle of the pitch but got tackled before he made the side line.
No, it wasn't me

Catch you later

Hi Andy,

You got to make it if there's a next time mate, it's well worth going.
They've done a great job on Wembley it's quite impressive.

Do you follow any particular team?

All the best

Thanks Shaun, really enjoyed it.
I don't think I could run to the bottom of my garden (not a very long one) let alone out run one of those guys and if I got hit by one I don't think I'd ever get up again

Not sure who our TV channels are covering next week but if it's the colts/pats game I'll make sure I see it.

Cheers

Vic

Take it steady

I've got a soft spot for the Oakland Raiders and The Patriots, but just enjoy watching.

I'll try to go next time.

Glad you had a good time

There was a streaker.....
They had some pre-game shots on the tube here, and funny thing was seeing the usual conservative Brits, painted blue and white, a few shots from the game festivities, but no mention of a streaker. Funny, they always cover the streakers at the tennis matches though!
Believe me, if it made big bucks for the teams, they'll be back.

Oh, they'll be back. There were 70.000 tickets available (with 2 million ticket applications ) it was great watching a regular season game without having to stay up until 4 a.m.

Now, if the NBA would do a few regular season games 'on-tour', life would be perfect...

So pretty much behave as you would at a rugby game (you know the sport where they have full body contact without the pads ).... except behave a bit better?

Hey Jim, they found a few extra tickets

Hope they'll be back, there were other cities from around the world trying to get this game I dare say they'll be after it next year.

Also there are already people moaning about the damage to the pitch, can't play soccer (football) unless it's as flat as a pool table, what a joke. I suppose they might twist an ankle.
It's a stadium for all not just soccer, it's not like England are that good at it anyway

All the best

LOL you mean the cup which according to Pom press we stole? In that vein, ironically someone tried to steal the cup right out of Habanna's hands yesterday during the Cape Town victory tour. Welcome to S.Africa! :X

I think we should ban the British press, they always print rubbish.

Not sure I'd like to try and steal anything from a rugby player

Not even from one who almost out ran a cheetah over 100 metres ( after a 50m head start)

Jim,
Stern has been looking at expanding the NBA to Europe for years, not just playing a few regular season games there since there are so many European players in the NBA.
Might happen,

Hey Andy

Did you ever go to watch the monarchs in London? (NFL Europe)
That used to be good. There was a lot of NFL players coming over to play in their off season.
I remember William "the fridge" Perry was over for a while. As always in England though it all came to an end for some reason.

Back in the 70's, at a Baltimore Colts game, some jerk decided to run out on the field between plays. Unfortunately for him, the path he took was right past the Colts middle linebacker, Mike Curtis. Curtis, who was playing with a broken wrist and had a cast on his forearm, clotheslined the guy with his cast. Needless to say, the idiot went down like he was hit with a baseball bat. Curtis just strolled back to the huddle like nothing happened. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen at a sporting event.

Nope never did - a big mistake. Went to the States for my Honeymoon - stayed in both LA and SF, but both teams had away games while we were there. SWMBO had even agreed to come to a game if i could get tickets :-(
