Today marks the 24th anniversary of the tragic Beirut barracks bombing which killed 241 mostly Marines, sailors, and Army personel.

Now 24 years old it is sort of forgotten in some ways in the American public and so much in the world has happened and changed since.

Well for any of those out there who served in Beirut during that trying time or who lost relatives or friends we remember and honor.

I remember when that happened. It was a sad day for America and our military. They were only in Beirut to help and look what happened. Reagan said that was his only regret as president.

Lest We Forget... I can't believe how quickly world events are forgotten even though we make a dedication to knowing them. Here's one for them, may they rest in peace .

Probably a coinsedence, but there was re-run of the CSI New York episode on tv tonight, about the bomber who was trying to show that America wasn´t ready for an attack. His threats were directed at Mac (exMarine), who had served there and had flashbacks of the morning it happened. Wonder how many saw it and thought it was just fiction like the rest of the series!
