Due to getting a bit bored modelling aircraft , I decided to build my birthday present from the Mother in Law, FineMolds 1/72nd Koensayer BTL-A4 Y-wing, to give it its full name.
This is the first Fine Molds kit I have built, and all I can say is what an absolute joy to build it is.
All the parts go together really well, with any seams hidden by paneling.
The decals are cool. The way they are printed on the clear carrier film so they fade towards the edges is something other decal produces should really look at, as they are quite convincing. They react well to Micro Sol/Set.
I decided to build a part of the Death Star trench to put it in, using plasticard and several parts from the spares box (yes, there are several Panther parts there ).
Anyhoo enough rambling, here are some pics.

Brilliant job
Very different and I really like the way youve put it on a base.
How about a "how many afv parts can you identify" quiz?
Cant wait to see this one on the Bulldogs stand

flippin'eck andy!
i was only reading a build review of this kit two days ago, and thought i might keep an eye open for one of these. i always thought they were cooler looking than X-wings, so there goes the "i don't want any kits at telford, just a few bits and bobs!"
looks great mate, is there a build feature in the offing?

I remember struggling with the old AMT version many years ago

Yep, that's brings back memories of the Millennium Falcon I built.

I can't remember half the kits the bits come off .

is there a build feature in the offing

Errr, nope, because it only took a day to build. Then a week to paint .
Its definitely a "I want that now" kit. Fell in love with it the first time I saw it advertised.
