Hi, I'll be visiting Portland, Oregon in the begining of October and was wondering if anyone has current information about local hobby shops in Portland.
My primary interests are military armor and vehicles, but I like to browse any sort of plastic models.
I made a list of locations from online search:
Hobbies Unlimited
4503 N Interstate Ave
Vic's Hobby Supply
606 NE Broadway
hobbysmith
1809 NE 39th Ave.
Bridgetown Hobbies & Games
3350 N.E. Sandy Blvd
Are any of these places good or bad or are there more that you know of?
Thanks!

I returned home late last night from Portland, OR.
While there, we visited a few of these hobby shops.
Since there was an overwhelming response and interest to my thread here is the information.
There are about six independently owned in Portland, and one Hobby Town. All of these LHS are within approximately 8 square miles! Tammies Hobbies is in Beaverton, OR which was described to me as the biggest around the Portland area.
If you bridge this fact with the local weather pattern there, then you have quite possibly a plastic model hobby mecca.
These are the shops that my buddy and I visited:
Bridgetown Hobbies & Games
http://bthobbies.com/
Big independently owned and run store full of static plastic kits
• cars including diecast.
• trucks
• the Fujimi 1/25 scale accessories and figures
• military armour and vehicles and figures, including diecast and prepainted sets.
• ships
• PE
• resin kits both AM upgrade and complete.
• builds on diplay
* books and magazines of all publishers I have ever seen.
• another section dedicated to gaming.
• friendly knowledgeable staff.
Vic's Hobby Supply
• Trains and trains.
• Materials and supplies.
Hobbies Unlimited
independently owned.
• RC Planes, boats, cars
• Some styrene static plastic.
• Hardware supplies and materials.
Friendly owner.
Island Hobbies
http://www.islandhobbies.us/
independently owned and just around the corner from our hotel.
This is a small shop in an indoor shopping mall on Hayden Island on the Columbia River. RC cars and static plastic. RC hardware and other materials and supplies.

That's too bad I did not see your post originally. But I would have only suggested Bridgtown to you, and I see you saw it anyway. It is the best in town for armor fans. Lots of Verlinden stuff and Warriors too, along with a bit of PE. Otherwise, they have a great selection of plastic kits.
I hope you saw more of Portland than just the hobby shops!
It's a cool city with lots of activity for such a small city. I think it was rainy while you were there, though. This summer and fall have not been the best, and historically those are great times to be in Portland - weatherwise. If you like beer, it is definitely the place to be. We call it "beer-vona" here. More micro-brews and small breweries than you can shake a stick at.
And not too far away is a very good air museum - with the Spruce Goose in it - called Evergreen Air Museum. Soviet tanks out back too.

Soviet tanks out back ? ! ? ahhh I missed that one.
We didn't have a lot of times to visit everything we wanted to see. We were sent there for a work project and worked all day. Too tired at night. Thank you for the information. I'd like to come back again.
