Hey there,

I'm a complete rookie on these boards. I just registered five minutes ago because I have some specific questions. I'm an independent filmmaker working in Los Angeles, and I'm working on an experimental film project which requires several scale models. I am very interested in building these models myself. I am looking for three kits in particular.

After some internet research, I have found model kits for the White House and for the Titanic... my question is: how large of a scale might I expect to find for these two models? In my brief searching, the largest White House I've found is in HO scale... and the largest Titanic I've found is 1:350. Should I expect to find any existing model kits that are any larger than this?

And, not surprisingly, I haven't found any Taj Mahal kits. Anyone know about this?

Thanks ahead of time for any thoughts you might have. And I imagine this will be the first of many posts as I enter this new world.

I don't know about the three specific models you're looking for. From my experience though, I would not suspect the White house to get any bigger in model form. It's such a large piece it wouldn't suit an average modeler. The Titanic is the same way.
I've never seen the Taj Mahal in any scale or any modeling medium.

There are commision builders who do special projects and I know those three subjects are very 'doable'.

Was it Lindberg who did a White House kit???? I remember building it years ago for a proposed "Independence Day" diorama...It was quite big.About 2 foot across...I will scan my brain and try to remember who did it...
