I didnt find a FAQ's covering this and am confused on what some things you all talk about mean.

White washing/ washing?
PE parts?

Is there a thread that covers these terms and more?

Help is very appreciated. I would like to know the lingo.

White washing and washing are two different things. White washing is when white paint is applied to an AFV as winter camouflage.

Washing is when a heavily diluted colour is applied over a base coat either to simulate dust or weathering or to accentuate the details.


PE stands for Photo Etched Brass parts which are sometimes used in place of kit parts as they have finer detail and a more vrealistic scale appearance than plastic parts.

Have a look in the Features section of Armorama and Modelgeek and a lot of modelling terms will be explained.
