Hi all

I was asked if I would post some pictures of what I have been building. Well yes it is a master which I want to complete by the end of the month. I started this about 4 yrs ago now I am going full time at it.
The spade I am building at the moment.
The hull is 98% done all the suspension is done just some minor details and a bit of tidying up.
The Turret still needs a lot of work; I want to do some internal detail only if time allows me. But this would be separate from the kit.
I had not realised how BIG it would be.
only external diiferances between M53/M55 are barrel and gun crutch and gun sight.
The turret is only placed in place and is not in its final position.
Any way I hope you all like it.
any questions or hints would be gratefull
all the pictures are here http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g110/oztank/M55/>

Looks great so far. You mention it is a master. What are the prospects for a kit? Resin or plastic?

Great master, are you going to be making any PE to go with it?

hi ya

the only PE will be the exhausts,
I have no control over this.
if you want a M55 or M53 when it comes out then get your selves some AFV club T84E1 track , this is what the M55 uses
great pictures where is this monster, i call it a monster well it is bigger then a Centurion tank.

That is one beautiful piece of work!!!

Do you work from original plans, photos, etc?

If you work from photos, what is the process you use to turn photos into usable scale plans?

Thanks,
Dave

Ossie,
Awesome build! It looks very clean, square and to-scale ... all important aspects of a scratchbuild. As a pattern-maker myself I'm always on the lookout for potential problems that could occur during the casting process. Does the hull breakdown into individual details for manufacturing purposes, or is it going to be a one-piece cast? If I might ask, if the latter is the case, how are you going to address the undercuts?

Looks incredible ...

Well I don’t have it any more I handed it over at Euro. It is with Elite models of Germany and they will be realising it, with out interior. It is a big model. I can not guarantee the quality of the casting though.
Glad you liked it.

Nice work! There's an M53 (or M55?) about 40 minutes from my house at the Tank Museum in Danville Va. I have always liked the look of this beast.
