I am currently deployed to Iraq, and was wondering if anyone has heard of any clubs or groups here at the various bases? I do not want to get very specific on my location, but anyone who is where I am at should know by reading my profile. Looking to see if there are others here.

Hi Jeremy, Sorry I can't help you with your search. I can say THANK YOU for your service to our country. Is there anything in particular you guys need for your modelling? My wife runs a collection box at work for care packages and I can add some modelling stuff...Stay Safe...Vince

There's a Baghdad Model Club with a point of contact of LTC George Salerno.

AMPS (Armor Modeling and Preservation Society) just sent them 450 kits and assorted supplies - knives, glue, paint, brushes etc. Hope it is enjoyed by all. I am told they really make an effort to get this stuff out to the whole country and not just units in the city. You can read about it here: http://www.amps-armor.org Look under the headline "President's Message".

Thank you for serving and good luck.

Jeremy--it seems that LTC Salerno will be the POC for all or most model donations to the various hobby clubs in theater. To contact him (and find a little bit of info on the model clubs in Baghdad, at Camp Falcon, and at FOB Speicher, go to the AMPS web site or to IPMS-USA at the below URL:

Thanks for your service!
