I finished my diorama today.

I took pictures while I was building it. Tomorrow I'm going to try and take some pictures of it outside in the daylight.

That's awesome! I love the amount of detail you have put into the diorama - the water effects are excellent!

Well done!

That is great - you need to submit this as at Least a model on display to Model Shipwrights. Natural light will make this shine.

There is something about the boats being so big and so close the shore it draws you in.

That looks really superb. What scale is it? I'm looking forward to hearing more about it.

What a sad looking scene.

Gorgeous! I really love it!
Enjoyed looking at all the pictures of this work.
Is it 1:87 / H0 scale?

Paul

PS: Duh! It's indeed 1:87 scale, just noticed it on the pictures of the Chevy....

This was a long tedious project with far too many unexpected problems. I almost gave up about 4 times. Thanks for all the compliments and kind words, it makes it worth it.

The tugs are Lindberg kits. I did some modifications and scratch building to them.

There was a half sunk tug you could see from the right hand lane of north bound 695 as it crossed a bridge over an inlet just south of the Patasco River it is the same river/inlet the Coast Gaurd Dockyard is on. The tug was on the along the western bank, about 100 yards from the bridge, I always wanted to stop and takes photos but never got around to it in the 2 years I lived there. working boats have so much more character than pleasure craft

Thats Curtis Bay. I know where you mean. I've seen that before. I grew up not far from there. There's some back further in there and some on the other side. When I was a kid they were still distinguishable, now all that's left is the outline of the haul. There were 2 that were aground facing each other and thee smaller boats partly under water. I think they were burned down to the waterline to keep kids from climbing on them.
