Wow here we are - finally this baby is DONE!!! It collected dust for years!! Literally forgotten about, till this campaign.
Now - on to the "Support Team for WH40K" (and maybe another Get'er done" project).
Fun fun satisfying campaign -thanks for the kick in the but.
I also created a gallery for the campaign - you can upload photos of your completed projects there.

Its from Verlinden -kit #1234 "US Civil War 12 Pound Gun (Napoleon)" 120mm.
Its a multi-media kit- Basic resin castings for the main parts, brass wire for grab handles and hooks, string for the rope, and styrene rods for the equipment handles.
Construction was a beast because of the wheels, no guide pins, no measurements, no 'jig' to get the spokes right. That's what originally stalled this poject. Then I just pulled out the trig/algebra from high school (yes you do use it again) and created my own jig.
The rest was easy to construct -good solid VP kit, just a little putty here and there. The usual resin blocks and extra resin to sand out.
The paint is a base coat of Tamiya Buff. Then an oil coat of Burnt Umber. I let it sit for about 15 minutes then rubbed/buffed off the excess to get the wood look.
The metal parts are a base of black, then dry-brush of Tamiya gun metal and aluminum. The barrel got extra drybrushing of brass and a few strokes of gold.
The Equpiment is base of black and drybrush of tons of shades of white/buff/dust/black etc. The shot and power have filters of oil shades of sienna and ochre mixes
The base is an old floor tile covered with whiteglue/water mix tinted brown. Then sprinkled RR balast/WS snow for texture. Then dropped on static grass and some crushed up lichen.
[edit] - oh yea - a bunch of black/gray/ and brown pastels overall.

It's a resin kit?!?
Scott I swear I was convinced it was wood and lead. LOL proves that you've done a great job (or I'm going blind )
Excellent work Scott.

Beautiful work Scott, I like that whole Verlinden A.C.W. line alot of fine looking pieces.
You've done a very convincing job as far as realism, I also thought it was a wood and metal kit !!!

Looks good. I can imagine it must have been tough to sort out the wheels. It must be a nice feeling to get it done.
