Hej everyone.
Have been lurking around this forum for ages. Very helpful I must say. Anyways, I saw that SANDF has These very cool looking tank transporters. I have found a side drawing of them at:
http://www.grupospa.com/spa/Web%20Kynos%20SPA/KYNOS_SPA.htmlThey appear to be in 1/87 scale
Now I am no expert, but it looks like one could use trumpeters Faun kit as a base and scratch the rest. Am I wrong to assume this? Either way as I have ordered a few SANDF kits I will need one to display the others
Any and all images that any of you guys have would be appreciated.

Hi Barv
I forgot to mention that IPMS SA has a few good images in their gallery. You need to signup. Looking forward to seeing the images.

Hi There
Have you tried to get hold of Chris Baxter at Baxmod - He specializes in SANDF armour kits here in SA. He should be able to help. I can always ask him if I can forward his e-mail address if necessary.
Cheers

Chris does not make the Olifant conversion. It is his friend Charlie who does. Another great person to deal with. I do believe the Faun by trumpeter could be used to build the transporter. You will need to get a hold of mor pic's of the rear of the tractor, and the trailer will have to be scratched. I am ordering another Faun now. If you find more pic's let me know.

If you get a hold of this guy, please pass on any info that could nelp. I want to build this monster, and am buying plastic, and kits to do it. I need to know more about it than the few pic's that I can find. Thanks.

Steve I think I send you some video on the Skimmel and Cavallo the two variants in use in the SANDF of the aljaba. I might have some other material here somewhere too.

All recovery vehicles in the SADF/SANDF are named after horses. What I have is video of the vehicles. I can share just tell me what you want.

Sorry last post is actually mine. Not my son. I need all the shots you have of the tractor it self, and the trailer. I am needing to know if I can use my Trumpeter FAUN for a base kit. The tractors seem to be similar to one another, but the trailer will have to be built from scratch. Did anyone get ahold of the Spanish chap who built the one at Marmax? If so have you recieved a reply yet?

The Kynos Alajaba is was bought from Kynos and is similiar to the faun. Two versions exist in the SANDF the Skimmel Heavy Recovery and the Cavallo Semi Trailer Tractor. I have the training videos of both.
