I have just spent 30 minutes on my hands and knees with a torch unsuccessfully looking for a 5mm long piece of sand coloured resin on a beige carpet.

I wonder what colour would be best for producers to use for models in order to make the carpet monster extinct. After all the model is going to be covered in paint so what matter if your sherman or panther comes in baby blue or shocking pink?

If I had my way I'd lift the rug and paint the floor black but since I do all my modelling at the kitchen table my wife won't allow this.

Oh well back to the search

Light gray always gets my vote! I've got a brown carpet in my workbench area as well and the lighter color is easier to spot. Cream colored or tan/sand just seem to be swallowed up instantaneously even if I do the archeologist-on-my-knees routine.

Screw the plastic & resin..... Whatabout the floor???? I'm still trying to figure out what color to paint it......... (it's concrete in need of a new coating)

The floor is Natural concrete and spots of a Dark grey color..... Neither of them work for ANY color plastic or resin................ unless it's black

Matt,

Well, there's your answer! Paint the floor black. It will also be a great conversation piece!

Pat, here's how to find your part - Get a pair of the wife's old stockings or panty hose. Stretch it over the end of a vacuum hose and secure with a rubber band. Vacuum the entire area until the part gets sucked up and trapped on the stocking.
You'll be happy that you found your part, and the wife will be happy that you didn't put them on!
