What online shops are in Canada? I'm looking to order a few DML kits, but want to start in Canada first.

Thank you.

Hey Gary:

Here are a few sites I have come across.
http://www.northstar-hobbies.com/
http://www.modellerschoice.com/
http://udisco.com/hobbies/index.htm

If you are close to teh Niagara Region, visit this place. Great selection.

I must admit that I have dealt alot with Luckymodel. Greta prices and reasonable shipping.

Thank you to both of you, I'll go thru these and see there prices.

That is the problem I'm running into. I can order the M1A2 SEP from HK have it shipped and arrive in 7 days for about $15.00 less than if I buy it locally, even with the exchnage rate. Good for me, bad for local business.

Gary,

Unfortunately what you have found out price wise often so true. Our local hobby store in Barrie, Ideal Hobbies has prices that are comparable to Luckymodels on DML kits, but take forever to get the new stuff in. On Tamiya, resin etc, then nothing can touch Luckymodels.com>Another very great Ontario hobby store is Hornet Hobbies in Toronto. Dave and Sherry Brown are great people and since Dave is an armour modeller, he talks the talk and walks the walk

I know it well. I've been dealing with Dave for 20 years now at the different hobby shops he has managed. I'm stopping in there tomorrow to see if they can get me the M1A2 SEP for a decent price. They where good on the Panther G Smart Kits I ordered last month.

Dave is the man. I don't care to save a few bucks from LM or where ever, I'd rather deal with Dave. If we all tried to save a few bucks we'd have NO local hobby shops.

So far all I have tried is LuckyModel, but this guy seems to have great prices:

I haven't actually tried him yet (saving up my pennies for another order), but a few others on here have and swear by him. He ships at cost too. Apparently, he can get a lot more than what he lists on his site, so drop him an email for a quote.

I believe he has good prices because he is closing up shop and liquidating his inventory.

Going out of business? I hadn't heard that, I'd better place my order soon.

I'd love to support my local hobby shops, but but I stopped in today and can't imagine paying the extra $15-20 per kit than they are asking. I still try to support Canadian suppliers first, but can only stretch my $$ so far...

Janic said that he is "kinda closed now, trying to liquidate his stuff".

Yah, that's too bad. I finally get into a position to place an order, and he's all out of kits. I did manage to order some books, and resin and pe updates for some of my kits though, so that's not bad. Now off I go to reread this thread to find some new suppliers...

There's a guy who does mail order out of Fredericton, NB. I've met him a few times at shows, etc. Basically, he started this to replace the lack of a good hobby shop in his area.

Anyway, it's Elm City Hobbies. Perhaps the easiest way to connect to him would be on the forums at www.maritimemodellers.com
