AMPSCT, the Connecticut chapter of the Armor Modeling and Preservation Society, is proud to announce AMPSEAST 2007. The show will be held Saturday, September 29th, 2007, at the Sheraton Danbury Hotel, 18 Old Ridgebury Rd., Danbury CT. Registration opens at 8:30 AM.
This year's theme is "The Six Day War: Defining The Middle East".
As anyone who attended last year's show will attest, the Sheraton Danbury is a first class venue with outstanding amenities. It is also convieniently located one exit from the Danbury Fair Mall and the Military Museum of Southern New England.
AMPSEAST is the largest armor model show in the Northeast, featuring 80 vendor tables, 4 seminars, and our famous monster raffle along with the AMPS Regional Model show and competition.

Seminar Schedule:
Seminar 1: Neil Stokes - The KV series
Seminar 2: Doc Wiseman - Resin casting start to finish
Seminar 3: Chic Mohr - Complete scratchbuilding techniques
Seminar 4: Thomas Jentz - PzKpfw 38t series

For attendees and vendors staying at the Sheraton we are pleased to offer a special show room rate of $89.00 per night. To receive the special rate, please call 1-800-325-3535 and identify yourself as being with AMPSEAST. You must make your reservation by September 7th!
We have also worked in conjunction with MMSNE and the show weekend will be an "Open Turret Weekend" at the museum featuring re-enactors and allowing you to climb inside all the vehicles at the museum.
Saturday at AMPSEAST and Sunday at MMSNE would make for the ultimate treadhead's dream weekend!
There is also lots to do and plenty of restaurants at the Danbury Fair Mall so it's perfect to bring the family!
Don't forget - AMPS 2008 is in Indiana, so AMPSEAST 2007 and AMPSEAST 2008 will be the ONLY AMPS shows on the east coast until 2009! Don't miss out!
We hope to see you all at AMPSEAST 2007! Mark your calendars now!

I should have Dora done by then.I may waesel my Cuz into going with me,so I can"borrow" his suv.To carry Dora.
If the judges insist on taking the Dora behind the curtain for judging,I may just display it.
After I finish it,there is no way it will be out of my sight.

Hi Carl,
If you are going to bring a Dora, we would be thrilled! Just let me know if it's a definite yes. I will reserve a table for your Dora and get a judging team to judge it in place. NOBODY will touch it but you.
Please let me know and I'll make the arrangements.

Barrel bits going together now. The man from IPMS Stockholm got in touch with Soar Art,they agree the barrel length is suspect. He is sending Soar Art scans of his data from a book he has. I will await more info, and leave my gun full length, with the end not glued in until the last moment.
I tell ya,this barrel has enough seam to fill to last 10 smaller tank kits!.
Of course,I am betting Jordi Rubio or Elefant makes an A/M one!

Breech

PS,Matthew,
Not to worry too much on special table,it'll be fine if they are the same height as last year.
It's mostly a "See what I did build."

Hey Carl,
Yes, the tables will be the same as last year. I just need to keep one table open for your Dora because it will take up one whole 6 foot table by itself. Can't wait to see one finished; I have the kit resting comfortably in my garage for now.
I'll have a table reserved for you. I just hope it fits in the elevator.....

Stairs
The planned "base" I will have,is a 16"wide x 83" (just measured) hollow core door section..
Much to get at Home Depot, like plexi and L shaped wooden framing material.
I just measured the 4 base sections, and they add up to 83".I forget how long a generic banquet table is,96?
But if Soar art can come out with a corrected shorter tube,I may be able to reduce the length to 63".A lot will depend on Soar Art correcting the gun tube.
As is,it will be OOB,with apologies for an inaccurate gun length.

Well, I'm going to wait to see the evidence on the gun length issue before I render a verdict. Right now it's a rumor as far as I'm concerned. Besides, I have a stake in this - I paid $250 for the aluminum barrel! It's a thing of beauty and I hate to think of taking a hacksaw to it!
Don't worry Carl, you bring the Dora and I'll have the space for her!
And don't tell anybody about the alledged barrel length error! Who's going to look at a finished Dora and have the balls to yell "The barrel's too long!"
Don't tell them and they won't notice or know!

Well,as OOB, faults lie with the manufacturer. Imagine a lack of markings for the railroad bogies. I suppose a sign saying "under construction" might help clear up issues.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!
Al, this brings up all kinds of compensation jokes. I won't type any, though, as I have this kit too! Is this why guys like the tanks with big guns the most? Let's not go there......
On a diiferent note, we now have a website (still under construction) for AMPSEast where all the latest information can be had, photos can be seen, and questions can be asked. It will be updated constantly. See it here:

Looking forward to seeing the Dora.
Hopefully it will fit into the elevator.
I'll volunteer John to help you if you need any help Carl.
Bad back, heart and legs, on me, not to mention my million dollar lungs
and I'm sure you wouldn't want to take a chance on me collapsing from the strain.

Oh, I get it John - you take Best In Show last year so now you're done with us!
Seriously, I'm sorry to hear you can't make it. You and that wonderful son of yours (he's a great kid!) will be missed!
