Ah, the long later winter, spring, and summer of no football is nearly over. (Football in this context is the oblong thingy, not the round ball) The teams are all back in training camp, the first pre-season game, the Hall of Fame Game, is this Sunday, and if I'm not mistaken this was the last weekend with no actual games, if only pre-season games.

No more having to watch reruns of movies like The Longest Yard, or The Replacements, or games from last year on NFL Network.

Is anybody else counting the days with me?

I can't say that I'm a fanatic (I'm eagerly awaiting the start of hockey training camp myself), but the front page of every Pittsburgh Post Gazette is dominated by a story and photo from Steelers training camp.

"Tonight at 11, Ben Rothlesberger (sp?) switches to Charmin!"

Gotta love this town's love of the Steelers.

Hi guys

This is by far my favorite time of year. Forget Xmas, forget thanksgiving. Starting in early Aug, NASCAR is still going strong, American style football is just starting to get going. Best of all the weather is still warm enough to enjoy it all. Ya gota love it.
