How do you know what a 1/35 scale part should look like if you have no guide. I know this is a stupid question but I want to try scratch building to maybe start the bug for modeling again. Would you use the kit part as a guide but how do you know how much bigger or small should it be. I know some of the parts would be easy like the handles. but the hoses for the hydralics and stuff gets me also and airhoses too and other stuff.

Usualally you can "scale' it off something like in A Photograph. in order to do it you'd need to have a known measurement of something in the picture.
