G'day mate
dunno of any Aussie Sites (dont believe there are any big ones, most your gonna find i think are small local ones, nothing to the scale of Americas "squadron" etc..)
But i find that hobbyeasy.com and luckymodel.com are the best for me, being in the asia pacific area their shipping rates are good, and the models are VERY cheap.
Cheers

As stated above, LuckyModel are pretty good. New release kits can be comparable to local prices, but "not quite bleeding-edge" kits can be found at very reasonable prices.

If you're in Sydney, I'd recommend checking out Avenue Hobbies at Chatswood. They may not have the biggest range of kits, but they have some of the best prices in Aus. They also have a good range of AM stuff to choose from (probably the best selection of AM bits in any retail shop in Sydney)

I would have to agree with Avenue in Chatswood, Barry has the best prices and a good range. If its not there on the site he can probably get it.
Another place to try for mail order in Australia is Albury Hobby Centre. For anyone who hasn't visited it I would say it has one the best kit ranges in Australia. The Website is pretty useless but ring and ask or drop an email. Very good place to look for OOP and hard to find DML .
Try Perth Military Modelling for a list of Aussie Hobby Shops.

Other good Mail Order Aussie ones I've used over the years are:
Frontline (Newcastle)
Hobby HQ (Melbourne)
Gosford Hobby (Gosford)
Hearns Hobbies (Melbourne)

Oh Lordy!! -ausboarder I hope for your sake that Wiz's links are not some of the ones he's shared with me!!

I'm with Al on this one - Avenue is a good bet. Wiz and I drop in on Barry at least once a week to see whats new.

Are Avenue hobbies still around. I tried finding them in the phone book without success. I even went for a drive to an address in Chatswood I found on an old google search but the shop was empty?
Is there a webpage I missed? or a phone number?

Sorry to say Barry has closed up and gone. I believe there was talk of a mail order setup but I believe that is just that, talk. It is a real pity to lose such an assett such as Avenue to the hobby. Sydney was not exactly well served for quality hobby shoppies to start with.
Firestorm is a great online supplier and offers a lot of hard to find stuff at great prices.
Cheers
