good day guys!
im embarking on my first project using photo-etched parts.. im planning to do some detailed work with armor stuff and i have a couple of questions before i actually buy the materials..
what glue would adhere to PE parts? would plastic cement be enough?
would airbrushed tamiya acrylic paints stick to PE parts?
im really new on this so forgive my ignorance..
any help would be appreciated! thanks in advance!
cheers!

Plastic cement bonds by dissolving the plastic to weld it together, so it wouldn't work with metal photo-etch. You are better off using super glue, but be careful as it is very weak when exposed to stresses parallel to the mating surface. I don't know if anyone has had any good experience with tiny amounts of epoxy, but that might be worth a try too.

Paint adheres to photoetch quite badly - use a good automotive primer first before airbrushing

I use either super glue or 5 minute epoxy resin which gives a bit of time to manoeuvre the part into place.
I totally agree with Andy, most model paints do not adhere to metal and need to be primed and automotive primers are made to adhere to variety of surfaces, metal, plastic, skin and clothing
