Well I use Testors plastic cement for regular plastic kits. I mix it up with Zap of various kinds to meet a specific need.
I use Zap or two part epoxy for resin depending on the application.
I haven't done metal figures yet.
Ceramic I use two part epoxy.
Plaster I use white glue.

When an immedaite, no questions asked, gotta be right now bond is needed, I'll put a drop of Zip Kicker on the superglue.

The only glue I can get in Cleveland Ohio for Kits is Testors tube or Liquid. Most model shops use testors exclusivly in this area

Hello..

for plastic kits i use Model Master cement and Plastruct liquid weld depending on what i'm doing.

clear parts Model master Clear parts Cement. works great goes on whiteish so you can see it and dries clear and doesn't fog up clear parts.

PE Superglue.

I do use white glue but mostly for temp joins esp for when i'm making resin casts.

Thanks for all your replies and info. I'm getting back into modelling after 10 years or so and considering the use of different products. I'll experiment with these and see which I like best. In the past I used superglue exclusively on plastics but have found it looses its strength and becomes brittle over time. I'm going to try some of the liquids you have mentioned for pastic and will probably stick to Zap or Flash for resin.
Thanks again!!

Another glue that is extremely cheap is Ethyl Acetate. Its not the glue of all glues, but I have found it to be as good as any of the other "normal" non superglue type glues. The benefit is the cost. I bought a gallon of the stuff 5 yrs ago for 15 USD. My sons and I have only used a tenth of the gallon so I have started giving it away, so that it can be used. I still have half the gallon left... 15 USD for a lifetime of modelling, sounds good to me!!

But I do have different assorted superglues and epoxies also...

Another option that comes almost for free is to take trichloroethylene put into it a few pieces of sprue and once meted it's good to put together plastic kits. It takes more to dry (roughly 24 hours) than Testors or Tamiya but gives you stronger joints. Another advantage is that once you're used to it you can have several mixes from very thin (for precision works) to very thick (for filling gaps, etc.)... Here in Italy you can find in any drugstore o supermarket, because it's used to remove stain from clothes. Another advantage is that you can have the glue of the same color of the kit...
