I have heard some rumours from a very believable source that a major model maker (well respected for both their quality and accuracy) is looking very closley at making a 1/35th scale South African G6!

They have requested some detailed information from a couple of sources in S.A. They apparently have some good info already, however detail on the underneath and a couple of other finer aspects are what they are still short of.

I do not want to say who it is yet until I have further clarification

Sorry - but I promise to post more news as and when I have it.

If this is indeed correct then this will be the first S.A. model put into a production run of one of the world's most respected plastic model makers.

Although my money is on AFV Club or perhaps even Trumpeter. IMO DML are too concerned with releasing every possible 3rd Reich vehicle ever produced or conceived to produce an 'obscure' gun like the G6

Wonder if they'll release a G7? Now THAT would be cool!!!!

Oh, and another thought.... you all of course do realize we're going to need crews and support infantry for this gun?

I was wondering if anyone has converted figures to SADF bushwar troopies. I have converted some Israeli figs, but does anyone have any better subjects or ideas? Any help would help me. I need crews for a Buffel, Ratel 20, and Olifant plus infantry. Help!!!!!!! I have found that Games-Workshop green stuff works well for conversions, but it is alot of work. I enjoy it but, short cuts would be a plus.

Has there been any more info on this. I remember reading somewhere that a kit was out, maybe only a pre-production kit. Just wondering if anymore info out there.

All I can say is that there are at least 3 people that I know, who are sending them (the kit maker) photos and other info. Apparently they are concentrating on the versions as currently used by the SANDF.

The reason I ask, is because I have read on another site of someone getting a G6 kit that someone had produced. Evidently, the boys over or up in England, depending on where you are, have a kit "as its now produced". So, somewhere someone has produced this kit in some form.Resin or plastic, I do not know.

Many moons ago, FIRE FORCE produced a 1/35th resin version. It featured in Military in Scale then. I had one too, but it was not very good at all. Hope this helps somewhat.
