I am heading stateside for a quick stay and have found I have some time to kill while I am in the greater Chicago area (which includes Milwaukee WI). Since I am going to be mobile I thought I might ask if there are any great LHS in the area? I was surprised to find only 2 links to US shops... there of the question...

TIA!!

Thanks all for the replies! Sorry for not getting back sooner, but have been in-transit without internet access the last little while.

I'll take a look and see where Wheeler is, if it is not too far I might just take a look...

Thanks again!

Like Mike said, venture hobby in wheeling has quite an assortment, plus{for us locals} for every $10 one spends, after ten times, you get $20 off the 11th model...supplies/books count too. {can I have you points-hahaha}
West dundee road off of 355/53 north...it depends on where your going to in the area as to how to get there......

Just to make sure I am looking for the same stores as you have mentioned, these are the addresses I found:

Venture Hobbies
23 Huntington Lane
Wheeling, IL 60090

M & Models
9239 South Cicero Avenue
Oak Lawn, IL 60453

They both look very close to where I am going to be at! Thanks a million!!

Hi Brian,

You might contact Patrick Keenan (WarWheels) and ask him about shops in the area. He is an old buddy of mine and I am sure if you send him a PM he would recommend some shops for you.

Brian, yeah, that's Venture hobbies...there's an apartment complex across the street and venture is in that small strip mall in the right handish corner{it's an "L"}, all the model stuff is on the left hand side...RC, mags, and supplies are on the right of the front counter. The whole left hand wall is aircraft kits, boats rear wall, armor next two rows in from rear, cars, sci fi, then die cast. Books are right rear and the glass cases are resin/pe stuff.

Thanks all for the help!

I should have asked how things were in the states with Internet hook-ups and the like. Every motel/hotel here in Europe has a terminal with Internet access. Not the case in the US (at least nat in the tri-state area).

Everybody has wireless available, but that works only if you bring your own laptop (which I didn't have with me). So to make a long story short I couldn't find Internet access, thought about Libraries too late, and went back frustrated to Sweden!!!
