i always was interested in the unit's name my grandpa served in. maybe you are right, according to Feldgrau.com, the divisional emblem would fit, but i'm not sure if the bow is more something of an emblem on company or regiment level. Regarding Gefreiter Karl Kindschuh, it may have been a common name during that time. I don't have access to the photos (physical or digital) until the weekend, but then i will make a scan at a far larger resolution to get the dates.

A most impressive collection, and thanks for sharing. Such valuable photos should be treasured for eternity. This perspective of war from the normal side, and not the official version is priceless! A friend of mine was telling me that while at school one of his mates dad had an album of historic photos. which his dad took, and in the album he saw photos of the hinderberg being built. His dad used to go once a week to the same spot in front of the factory to photograph it.He also had a picture of Hitler getting out of his merc taken from a hotel balcony. This guys dad was a test pilot and tested amongst others the 262. Now, imagine what photos he had in his album, and what happened to them. Such photos need preserving! A million thanks for sharing these with us. Harry.

I would like to thank milvehfan for bringing this topic to light again and also Patrick Busch for sharing such a unique set of photos. My only question is was there an update to this feature that I also missed?

After doing some more research over the last years, I was able to get my grandpa's military record. The unit he was in the time he took the photos was Panzerjäger-Abteilung 195.

Panzerjäger-Abteilung 195 was part of the 95. Infanterie-Division. The unit insignia (bow with arrow) is the enblem of 95. Infanterie-Division.
