IPMS Nationals 2019

It needs to be remembered that for those interested in the flying sky dots that the RAF Museum Cosford is very near to the Telford International Centre. While this is an RAF Museum aircraft from around the globe can be seen in a well lit and pleasant environment. You do pay for parking but entry to the museum is free and there is a lot to see; mostly inside which is important in the UK during November. For those of us into ground targets there are a few of these on show as well. The staff will also on occasion escort you over the barriers to enable you to get closer to the metal providing the situation allows. I cannot recommend going to the RAF Museum Cosford highly enough as an added benefit to the IPMS Nationals show.

Nice report Darren. Pity about the accommodation. Premier inn may not be great but at least its bearable. Particularly liked the Stuka, but what struck me about the overall standard is that it doesn't appear to be any higher than what is seen on here on a daily basis, and in some cases in fact poorer.

I try very hard to cover the efforts of everyone as I feel everyone regardless of ability deserves some attention. It is very easy to concentrate on excellence and pure brilliance but I like to see what all abilities provide and bring to the table. I normally stay at the Premier Inn but finances were very tight this year and so I stayed in a place where drugs were rampant and I wonder if I was going to wake up in an ice bath minis a kidney and this is if I was lucky.

Frankly, I would be embarrassed to put the best of my efforts next to the "poorest" thing I see here. I particularly like the radar and missile vehicles, as those are exactly the kinds of things like build myself.

Nice builds, thanks. Should off stayed in the Premiere in Wolverhampton, that was nice when we stayed there. I need to get back some day.

Glad you still have both your Kidneys, Darren. To be clear, I wasn't being critical of the models displayed, and certainly not claiming that my efforts would stand that level of scrutiny, but simply stating that the standard of modelling on here is very high.

Darren, Great job presenting a sampling of everything at the show. I appreciate including all skill levels. The name of the game is fun and personal enjoyment. (Is your entry in the photos?)

So many wonderful models. The "Lost Squadron" recovery that created "Glacier Girl" is particularly interesting.

Great coverage Darren and some really nice models on display by the looks of it. Despite this show being on my doorstep, I always miss it. I always think it's later in the month and forget.

Hi Darren, Looks like it was a great show! Pity it's so far from here - travel, accommodation (with kidneys!), and food would use up my model-buying budget before I could get to the traders. But I'm glad it was another success, and I'm amazed how fast you got the story posted!
