It was fifty-eight year old ALCO RS-2 No. 105 that I ran along NN Ry's Hiline to Adverse during Nevada Northern Railway Museum's Engine Rental Program

Nevada Northern 105 started out as Kennecott Copper No. 105.

The ALCO RS-2 is a 1,500 hp (1.125 MW), B-B road switcher railroad locomotive. It was manufactured by American Locomotive Company (ALCO) from October 1946 to May 1950, and 383 were produced — 366 for American railroads, and 17 for Canadian railroads. It has a single, 12 cylinder, model 244 engine.(source: Wikipedia.org, ALCO RS-2)

The ALCO 244 is a 12 cylinder, V type 9" X 10- 1/2", single acting, turbosupercharged, 1600 HP Diesel engine of four stroke cycle having an open combustion chamber with solid fuel injection. The engine speed is 350 RPM idle to 1000 RPM full speed and governed by an electro-hydraulic governor:
