My name is Matt and I live in San Antonio, TX. I have been building models for 32-odd years, but only over the last half-decade or thereabouts, have I been working on actually making them look good; weathering, airbrushing, gap-filling/seamwork, etc. I have also recently started playing with resin and PE aftermarket goodies.
Before, it was "throw-it-togther-as-fast-as-I-can-and-paint-it-whatever-color-looked-good" kind of building - even to the point of chasing the cat around the house making explosion noises
But once I actually won a couple of ribbons in a small informal contest in Tacoma, WA in 2001, that made me sit up and start combing the Internet for tips, hits, reference photos, etc.I enjoy building not only modern armor from all countries, but also modern tactical jets. I have around 15 kits in the stash, and am currently working on the new Dragon M1A1 Abrams, as well as a Hasegawa F-16A that will (eventually) be finished in NSAWC agressor markings.
i also just joined the local modeling club, Alamo Squadron (www.alamosquadron.com). Great bunch of friendly folks!
