another WWII film..like the battle of leyte going all the way to the battle of lingayen. and another project would be nice is ..a war film showing the japanese view of the war. could be from kamikaze pilot's point of view on how they reacted to their mission..their loyaty to the emperor..thier families and more. rare subject taken consideration by film producers.

Interesting how most of you focus on recent history.

I'd pick something more "ancient":

The punic wars including Hannibals attempt to conquer Rome (Roman empire)
The battle of Agincourt (100 yrs. Wars)
The battle of Waterloo (Napoleonic wars)
The defeat of Caporetto (WW I)

And if I was to make a recent movie I'd go for a remake of "The Longest Day" or "The Big Red One" or "The Battle of Fallujah".

A real comprehensive Afrika Korps movie following them through all there battles. my only worry would be that it would be to make sure its perfectly historicaly acuarate(I know its spelt wrong). And also Stalingrad cuase of family history.

P.S. GSPatton THE DOWNFALL or DER UNTERGANG(I think) very good in German with subtitlesit tells the story of traudl Junge(Hitlers secretary)

After reading the book 'Night Witches' by Bruce Myles a couple of years ago I remember thinking 2How has no-one made a movie about this?!" It tells the story about the Russian female combat pilots in WWII in particular Lily Litvak, the highest scoring female ace. An incredible story.
