Well, I already made an informal introduction in the Military aircraft forum, so I guess Ill get a little more in depth about myself......

I suppose like many of you I made models as a kid. But back then the tube cement and Toys-r-us specials only meant to butcher decent kits, rather than make them shine . Ive always held an interest in militaria, but the WWII era was always a favorite. Im also a big military aviation buff with ( surprise, surprise) a high interest of WWII airplanes.

Well, here I am, 26 years old now, and I decided a few months ago "Hey, I should start modeling again." Only this time I decided to do it right. I bought a few books, started assembling all the tools and equipment, and here I am starting my first offical project since being a munchkin! Im looking forward to enjoying just another one of my relaxing hobbies in this modeling adventure. Im already thinking of trying some armor kits in the future as well!

Glad to make everyones acquaintance.

Im doing a Hasegawa 1/72 F6 hellcat. I got in a little over my head in attempting a Photo-etch kit for it, so im going to just go ahead this time and use the factory cockpit. And boy oh boy, I cant believe how much sanding, filing and CA gluing Ive had to do just on the drop tank to make it look good! But so far Im having a blast!

Brian -

Welcome and greetings from out "West". You'll soon find out that you've found the best place possible to restart this fun and fascinating hobby of ours. There's all the help, support, and opportunity to improve that you could ask for and the greatest people around to provide it. Don't wait too long to start up on the Armor, and maybe then we can draw you over to the "dark side". Enjoy,

Welcome back to the hobby Brian. I only got back into it the last couple years and your story is almost exactly the same as mine except I build armour.

I also went a bit overboard and trued PE at first but have learned my lesson and am enjoying building my skills.

Hope you enjoy your time here.
