I just wanted to say hi. I'm new to the site obviously. I have been reading posts and drooling over pics for a couple of weeks now. I'm not trying to suck up or anything, but I have never seen models so impressive before. Congrats to everyone. Someday I hope I can come close to what I have seen. I've been out of the modeling scene for a while, but lately I decided to get back into it for some unknown reason. Whatever the reason was, it was a good one. I am mainly doing armor right now. Anyways, I'm looking forward to talking to everyone and seeing more great artwork. Thanks in advance for all the help I will receive.

Jason -

Welcome to Armorama. You'll soon find out that not is the quality of work soon here outstanding, but the "owners" are more than willing to share, explain, and help the rest of us improve our builds. That is the greatest aspect of this site, the willingness of everyone to critique as apposed to "trash", make suggestions and give advice, provide support and help with techniques and references. Just a terrific place to be associated with. Enjoy,

Welcome to Armorama.

Hi Jason!

Bienvenue!

I think the main reason why most of us "return" to the hobby, is some kind of "madeleine de Proust" effect! This means trying to return to the tender ages of our childhood when we slapped a kit together (with painting and decaling) in one afternoon! :-)

I live in bloomington-normal. Thanks for the welcome. Know of any good hobby stores up there that I should keep an eye out for? I travel up to that region sometimes. Also, do you know of any good model conventions in the area?

Hello, I a m 31 years old and have been modelling for about 12 years. I started on aircraft but then moved into the armor. I now build almost all armor. I work full time as a police officer and use modelling as a stress reliever, believe it or not! I prefer to build modern subjects only because EVERYBODY does World War II stuff. I really like painting figures and was considered an expert in figures by a local club. Anyway please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Thanks.

Welcome Cory. Skipper, I used to make helicopters back in the day when I was a kid. Now I am into armor and artillery, anything WWII at the moment. I like any of the unusual tanks, trucks, or whatever from that time.
