Um...hi.
My name is Chris Searing. I live in the Kansas City area and am just about to finish high school. I've been building models for about three years now, so I'm still relatively new to the hobby.
I was introduced to Armorama a while ago by my good friend, Rick Brownlee, (MiamiJHawk) and finally decided to speak up rather than just sit back and watch.
Subject-wise, I mainly build 1/72 scale WWII German armor, though I will do the occasional Allied or 1/35 AFV. I also have a growing collection of Scifi models, again, mostly in 1/72 scale. In general, though, I will try just about anything.
That's about it!
Chris

Howdy Chris,
Can't tell you how glad I am to hear from a highschool-aged young man that actually builds models, and german Braille scale to boot!

Allow me to shout out a big, warm "Welcome Aboard!" to you for taking the time to stop 'lurking' out there....and add your valuable voice to our community. Bully for you!

Look forward to seeing both your comments on the Forum's, and your build pictures in your Gallery.....
Glad to have ya with us.

Ciao Chris,
Welcome to the Big A!! You will grow to love it here. Even though you have three years of modeling, you will learn so much from the masters around here!
Ciao for now

A Hearty welcome to the "Bushwacker" from Missouri from this nasty and very old "Jayhawker" from across the state border.
(For those not familiar with the 1850s Bleeding Kansas era, prior to the American Civil War, we cross state rivels here in Kansas and Missouri still tease each other about that rather violent period)
Chris, so many modelers have given such positive comments to welcome you. And that is so typical as to why this is such a super site. I get my Big A "fix" almost twice a day. Just a wonderful and friendly group of "people oriented" modelers here. And oh my the skills that they artist possess! What inspiration!
Thank you to Mary and Kevin for your kind words about me. I feel the same way about you both and wish you a happy future. Flying out for my daughters wedding, in the morning.
Again, welcome aboard, Black Water!!

Ditto! It's refreshing to see yet another young man ( and woman) who have taken to the hobby.
I hope you'll enjoy your time here...there's a lot of talent and you can always learn something new each day.
Best Wishes
Steve

Thanks again for all the welcomes!
Well, Steve, I decided to take your words to heart and joined this campaign. I currently have Trumpeter's Elefant on the bench as well as a Battletech Rifleman, but since I've already started those, I'm not sure if they'd qualify for the campaign. Otherwise, I've got UM's Marder III on the way and I'm really anxious to get to work on that one! I'll try to post some of my work into my gallery soon.
Rick: Pish...Kansas... Take that you nasty old Jayhawker! (please don't hurt the newbie!)
