Just watched Die Another Day and Tomorrow Never Dies over the weekend. I noticed that I was totally unfamiliar with the theme songs for the newer Bond movies with Pierce Brosnan. However I can Identify with a lot of the older ones like Live and Let Die (Live and Let Die), Nobody Does It Better (The Spy Who Loved Me), Goldfinger (Goldfinger), All Time High (Octopussy), You Only Live Twice (You Only Live Twice), View to a Kill (View to a Kill)

Anyone else get that same feeling? Also what is your favorite Bond Theme Song? Bond Movie? Bond Girl?

My movie is The World is Not Enough, fav Bond girl is Barbara Bach in The Spy Who Loved Me

I have the boxed collection of Bond movies, and separately, the later Connery one 'Never say Never Again'. I never get tired of watching them, and use them as background noise whilst I work. My favourite film is 'Die Another Day', yet my favourite bond is Roger Moore becaues of the sense of humour he brought to it. My favourite soundtrack is 'The Living Daylights', although Louis Armstrong singing 'What a Wonderful World' in 'On Her Majestys' Secret Service' has got to be up there with the greatest soundtracks of all times!

For me Connery is the only Bond.
Bond girl... has to be Halle Berry, followed by the bird from Dr No... sorry gone blank on her name...
I like the Madonna song from the last bond movie and of course The Living Daylights...
Favourite movie... tough one, I'll pass on that choice, as I enjoyed all except the Dalton ones...

Favourite Bond film is Thunderball, because of the Vulcan in it. I remember going to St Athan Battle of Britain air shows in the early 70s and seeing them do their stuff. Best bit was when the pilot stood it on its tail and make the ground shake

Shame they're grounded now, at least there is still one not to far from me at Southend airport.

Best Bond girl is Teri Hatcher - just because

Favorite theme song, Goldfinger. Bond movie? That's hard, but I always liked Thunderball for some reason, probably because it was the first I saw in a theater instead of on TV. Favorite Bond girl, Daniela Bianchi from From Russian with Love. There is one scene where she is apparently wearing nothing but a black chocker around her neck, laying back in bed, that will do the trick for me every time.

Best Bond? Connery, hands down. Since him I'd have to go with Pierce Bronson

I have two favorite Bond movies, "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Die Another Day." The action and the humor is superb in these movies.

I'm a girl, so I can't exactly see how you guys see "Bond Girls." It would be more on admiration. So, if I were to choose a Bond girl, it would have to be that girl from "For Your Eyes Only." Forgot her name.

Favorite Bond music would be from Die Another Day and For Your Eyes Only.

Favorite Bond car would be that chameleon car in Die Another Day and that submarine car in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Favorite Bond villains would be Gustav Graves (Die Another Day), Mr. Stromberg (The Spy Who Loved Me) and Dr. No.

Most hated Bond actor is Timothy Dalton. I never knew why he was assigned for the Bond Role.

Favorite Bond actor would be Pierce Brosnan. He is so debonairre. He is so handsome.....

Bond= Sean Connery
Movie= Dr.No, the one that kicked it off.....
And of course.... and this is for Rudi.... the bird from Dr. No, Usula Andress.

Of course at my age now, Miss Moneypenny is hot..... LOL

Fave Bond films- On Her Majesty's Secret Service (no silly gadgets, Telly Savalas AND Diana Rigg!)
Live and Let Die of course Excellent theme tune (only decent McCartney tune since the Beatles split up...!), Jane Seymour in fanciable mode, daft voodoo and dangerous reptiles.
all the recent ones after Moore have been enjoyable and I rather liked Timothy Dalton as Bond- he smoked cigarettes and was intense. Brosnan is good also.
Best villain- Dr Evil

Those ones with Timothy Dalton in them with the Kenworth trucks, they almost couldn't get the cables out of the way that lifted the trucks, when they popped them wheelys. That was so fake, almost like a train locking up it's wheels, in the movies.

Eaton, or Rockwell, would just love to make a drive lines that strong, and all these companies with poor drivers would buy them, cause they snap them off, with way less effort then they give in that show.

Cause they are all the time snapping drive lines just by sliding the trailer axles, or trying to slide the fifth wheel.

Best Film; Dr No.
Best bond; Sean Connery (The only real Bond)
Best theme tune; Goldfinger.
Best girls; Usula Andress and Jill St John

Worst Bond; Lazenby by a long way. (bad acting and as far as I remember the only Bond to cry) and he hasn't stopped crying since. Saw him interviewed once. Just kept going on about being hard done by.

Drudge is reporting that Dame Judi Dench is saying Pierce Brosnan WILL be returning as Bond in the last of Ian Fleming's books to premier on the "big screen", Casino Royale.

Should be fun. I actually liked the idea of going back to Bond's earlier days (as the book does) and seeing a younger Bond. Oh well...studio decisions generally suck.

Cheers,

There was some talk (at least 5 years) ago of Sean Connery playing arch-rival Blofeld. Anyone hear anything about that? Any thoughts of Connery playing the bad guy in a Bond flick?

I do too. My fave Bond theme song would have to be A View to a Kill (by Duran Duran).

Sean Connery is the best Bond actor for me (though he's Scottish) and his movie, Goldfinger is the best 007 movie...then again, recent 007 movies are in a different league given the technologies used, I'd give it to Tomorrow Never Dies in the contemporary category.

As for the Bond Girl, there's a very young Jane Seymour (who played Solitaire in Live and Let Die) and Michelle Yeoh (who plays Wei Lin in Tomorrow Never Dies), this Bond Girl can kick butt..

Some extras:

My "favorite" villain would be Auric Goldfinger, next would be Ernst Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE. My "favorite" henchman or hatchetman would be Oddjob (Goldfinger) and Jaws (played by Richard Kiel in the Roger Moore flicks).
My fave Bond gadget would be the multi-function cell phone (Tomorrow Never Dies).

For your eyes only was on TV last night.

It was absolute rubbish, I didn't remember it as being so bad and the bond girls were very poor (including their acting)

Sheena Easton and the title song just about finished it off

Barbara Bach in 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. Interestingly, and coincidently, Ringo Starr or Richard Sharkey as he was then, was a pupil at the school I teach at now.

Own them all and enjoy them all, even the last couple Roger Moore was in. If I had to pick my favorite Bond, even though I know it goes against popular opinion I would say Timothy Dalton. I think he brought a toughness back that had been missing in the Moore films. Pierce Brosnan has also been very good, better than I thought he would be. (if you're familiar with Remington Steele you might understand where I'm coming from with that comment) It's hard for me to pick just one movie, so I'm going to cheat and pick one for each actor. "Goldfinger", "Live and Let Die", "The Living Daylights", "Tomorrow Never Dies". "On Her Majesties Secret Service" might actually be the best of the whole lot, it would have been interesting if Lazenby (sp??) had stuck around for longer. Again it's hard to pick one Bond girl so I'll pick a couple, Ursella Andress from "Dr. No" and Jane Seymour from "Live and Let Die". My favorite Bond song is The Living Daylights, by Aha, followed closely by A View to a Kill (trivia; View to a Kill was the only Bond song to ever hit #1 on the pop charts, at least in the USA), and Live and Let Die. (can you tell I have a hard time making up my mind ) Fun thread!!

Cheers,
Mike
