Hi, not too long ago i was beggining to be interested in scale modeling.I'm so new i have't even made a model before... lol.So i would like you guys to help me choose my first project.I really like soviet tanks and ships.Since i'm new i'm looking for something good for a begginer but not too easy.My dream would be... making a really large scale model of a aircraft carrier .But i dont see that happening just yet.

I would really like to make a soviet tank model as my first project.Especially if it could be a T-54 or T-55 tank.Medium size and not too easy to build but good for a begginer.Any suggestions?

Ciao frank_pivo_4,
Welcome to the big "A," and I would suggest that you go with the Tamiya one. Either that, or go with one that is on sale - you know, just sort of a warm up to the real thing. That way you won't kill yourself over mistakes.
Ciao for now

Welcome to Armorama Frank. Another Fla. member is a good thing. Are you anywhere near Ormond or Daytona Beach? For your first model I would suggest something from Tamiya. They have some nice kits. I would suggest the M-41 as your first tank. I know that it is not a Russian tank but it is a rather easy kit to build. It is not expensive either.

Greetings form Germany Frank! There are many model shops online, www.hobbyterra.com has many Soviet tanks, in all scales. Good luck with your project. Don't forget to post pictures of your work!

Frank_pivo_4 -

Welcome to Armorama and you couldn't have picked a better place to start. Greatest group of modelers around and as you've already seen, more than willing to help out. How about joining up in a "Campaign" like "AGE 2" for modelers starting out (find info under the Campaigns in topic list). I agree with the others that the 1 /35 th scale Tamiya T-55 (or other Soviet tanks) would be a great and enjoyable first "build." The "AGE 2" Campaign is for strictly OOB (Out of the box) and would be a great way to "get into it." Anxious to hear how things go.
