Hello one and all. I'm not exactly a new modeler, I've just been away from it for 4 decades. When my wife went back to work, I started looking for something new to do when she's not home, and the first thing to come to mind was buiding models again. Now I wonder how I could have given it up for so long. I started with a couple of planes, but switched to tanks. So far, the only real problem I've had is painting camouflage, which is what led to me this site. I was looking for pointers on camouflage, and now realize there's a whole lot more I can and want to learn. I may not be a regular "poster", but I'm sure to be a regular reader.
Thank you all for the help I've already gotten from exploring this site, and the help I'm sure to find.

Hi Kealii21:
Welcome to the best modeling site on the internet. I was away from the hobby for probably thirty years and had the exact feeling you did: why did I stay away for so long?

Welcome to Armorama . 4 decades? wow. Well you have some catching up to do. What with the , wife working, that means btwn loads of laundry and dishes you should find you will never have enough time to devote to your re-found hobby. So, my suggestion is to divorce the wife, liquidate the portfolio, add on a room to the house (that you get to keep in the settlement) and start perfecting the camo thing.
Merry Christmas and there tons of info and members to ask for help along the way. Just don't ask me cause i've got laundry and dishes to do.

Kealii, Welcome back to the hobby & a hearty Welcome To 'The Big A'! You'll find this to be the BEST site on the net, filled with helpful, courteous people & great advice. Don't be afraid to speak up with any Ideas you may have, or to ask any question, no matter how trivial it may seem to you. Have fun, Join a campaign (you may even be interested in the AGE2 campaign) & make some friends. ( my apologies to Grumpy if I stole his line...
)
Oh, BTW, I take it from another post that you're from LawnGuyLind? (NY humor...

Thank you all for the welcome.
Kevin, thanks for the advice by I think I'll keep the wife for a while longer. After all, her income helps make the hobby affordable. Besides, my daughter does the laundry; I do the dishes while whatever I'm making myself to eat is cooking, and I've already turned my son's room into my new hobby room.

Kealii21 -
Merry Christmas and welcome to Armorama. This is simply the greatest site and "family" of modelers to be associated with. Like you I'm just recently returned to hopefully "serious" modeling after many years. In just the couple months here, I've learned so much and been able to share in a growing experience. Many new friends which is the best part. Look into a Campaign (like AGE 2) which is for new and returning modelers. Share, get involved, and just enjoy. Glad to have you here,

Welcome aboard kealii21, nice to have you back in the hobby.
We have a new campaign starting up..... the AGE2, you might be interested in enlisting in it. It's for youngin's under 18, and also for those like yourself, returning to the hobby, under a year. In the AGE2, you will get to meet and know some of the best modellers on plant Earth.
