I am still new, and didn't check in here when I first joined the forum, so here goes.

My name is James, I'm 27 years old, married 3 kids. I am a PC/Network technician for a health care system.

My dad was a modeller when he was in the Army, he mainly put together street vehicles such as muscle cars and big rigs Freightliners, etc. When I was about 15, I started the hobby and did muscle cars, hot rods, and one F4 Phantom. At 17, I won a couple of awards for pencil and pen/ink drawing at the local community college, and that was pretty much the end of finescale modelling for me.

At 18, I joined the Marine Corps, was stationed in Naples, Italy (awesome duty station for WW2 geek like me) for two years in the Security Force Battalion. When I came back to the States, I was sent to Camp Lejeune, and got married. Since I love reading, I checked out the base library and saw a diorama there that made my jaw drop. It depicted a beach landing in the south Pacific, I do not remember which one. I have tried to find a picture of it, but cannot. That was 1999, and I have been wanting to try and do a diorama ever since.

Now, I am on my way finally and hope to learn alot from you guys!

Welcome aboard James to the Big A.....
Spent a few liberty hours in good old sunny Naples, back in the days of steel ships and drunken sailors.......

Welcome James! Glad to have you aboard the Armorama express!

What part of Arkansas do you live in? I used to live in Harrison and I have a brother who still lives there.

Go figure! I was born and raised in California and ended up in Arkansas for awhile. Talk about culture shock!

Welcome James go to have another Jarhead onboard. Hope you didn't spend to much time at the Castle in Naples.
I would say I remember spending time there, but I really don't remember, way to drunk at the time. LOL

Yep, I know that area well. I was a manager for Meeks building center in Harrison and I use to go to the Rogers store for inventory quite often.
