Yep, I'm a new face here but let me get down to why I came here. I liked armorama.com for a little while since I had stumbled upon it one Google search a few weeks back. But then I got this sudden "itch" to make something, I wanted to start modelling like I used to when I was younger....
So one day while I was at a local Walmart, I remember buying some usual aircraft kits when I was a kid and trying to put them together. Well I remembered that I had wanted to do a model, I went over and picked up this here P-40B (Would've prefered a Bf-109G ) that I'm still working on plus a Testors model finishing kit with some basic military colors.
So I've came here because of my sudden nag in modelling, I am a fairly large fan of German WWII armor and am thinking about checking local hobby shops for some models of these kinds of armor. Plus I also came here for some usual help in trying to do a model really well, to try and get some help and advice on how to do things correctly instead of ignorantly like I did when I was younger. :-)
Well... all-in-all, hello everyone!

Welcome to Armorama Joshua. Glad to see another new member from sunny Florida. Where in Fla do you live? I am in Ormond Beach. Glad to see that you have decided to get back into the hobby. You will find a lot help here. Don't be bashful. We have a lot of builders here who are a wealth of information on many different subjects.

Yeah, Welcome aboard! This is a great place with lots of useful info.
Not to take business from your local Hobby shops, but Ebay is another great place to score some nice kits at well below retail prices. Be careful though, there are some gougers out there!

Ah! Thanks guys for the warm welcome.
I'm down in sunny and muggy Fort Myers, not a bad place but it's good enough for me!
I'll be glad to show my finished item once I get it all on track and ready, it's my first attempt at a decent modelling attempt.
Most of all I came here cause I know forums are almost always a great place for help and advice on a specific subject, it's like a human search engine!

Ah, I just took a look at it and it sounds good, so it's open to all members even my 19 year old self?
I think if I join I might enter in my P40-B I've been working on, it's worth a shot and definitely worth the experience!

Hello, Joshua (or do you prefer Josh?) & welcome to the BEST site on the net! I saw your work in your P-40 post, and as you've already seen this site is just full of helpful & knowledgable folks. We're doing something new with the AGE campaign this time, it's open to all modelers with less than 1 years experience. So jump in & have some fun, meet some members, & build, build, build! Don't forget to avail yourself of the Mentors( shameless plug ) to make your experience the best it can be.
See you around the site!

Barget -
Welcome and I know you'll enjoy the experience. I'm a recent "returnee" to modeling, hoping, and thanks to the people here at Armorama, finding the joy I remember building models and dioramas. I'm a WW II AFV (mostly German) fan also. There are a couple "Campaigns" going on that might peak your "armor" interests. I'm involved in the "Ardennes (Battle of Bulge)" Campaign that runs through Feb 2005. Totally outstanding "family" of modelers here to share and grow with. Enjoy,

Thanks again guys and yeah Josh is perfect cause that's my usual casual name.
I'm really looking forward to this AGE2 campaign, it looks like a really good idea although I'm not quite sure how these campaigns work to be honest. Any help possibly or anywhere I can find out more?
Thanks for all the support guys!

Oh really, Fort Myers Beach!?
I'm about a spitting distance from Ft. Myers Beach here and I agree it's a nice area.
Although I'm sorry the beach probably didn't look its best the time you came down since it took alot of damage from hurricane Charley.
But hey, I used to work there at a restaurant by the pier called the Pierside Grill, it's a nice place for vacation and so is Sanibel which is in the same direction.
Nice hearing kind words from you all the way over in Germany, hey maybe I'll come visit Germany one day.
