Hey guys! I can't believe there's a website out there that exists like this one! This website is amazing. I'm from Texas...Dallas, so I'm sure there are numerous Hobby stores...I just have to find them. I'm a Sophomor at Stephen F. Austin University where I am studying Chemistry. I hope one day I will become a dentist. I've always been fascinated with models. However, until recently I got very serious about them. I am working on a diorama right now---well, I say "working on" but really I haven't even finished my tank. Oh well, gotta start somewhere huh? I'm doing a M41 Walker Bulldog tank...saw it at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off, so I had to get it. It came with three figures and so far I have only painted one of the figures face...but you know what? I'm SO proud of that face! :-) It's my first one, so I guess that's why I'm so proud. I have lots of questions and it seems as though this site is the home to tons of experienced modelers, so I'm in the right place. I guess for my questions I will go to the specific area of interest and write questions. I would REALLY appreciate responses, as this is the first time I've done this. Sorry if this one is long---please write back!

Jason, you are probably sitting next to one of the largest mail order/online hobby superstores, Squadron Mail Order. They are located in Carrollton, TX and do offer open houses annually. I hear prices and selection during the open houses are great!

Welcome to the site.

Howdy Jason! Welcome to Armorama!
Dentist school, huh? Save all of your old tools for use on your bench, you will use them all!
Ask any question, and someone here will have the answer, we just wanna help and see good results for you.

Now, Have Fun! (and don't glue your fingers together like I seem to do! :-) )

Is that stuff useful? I have access to alot of if actually. What do I use it for? If it's useful, I'd be glad to send people some. Just let me know.

Yep sure is useful, use it for many things, straps, brackets, seat belts, rivets, rifle slings, The more you read the articles, and postings you will fine a lot of uses for it. Most of us are reduced to buying it, or buying the wine (some prefer this method) to get it.

Jason,

Welcome aboard!! Send a PM to an armorama member named EPI. He works at a hobby shop in the Dallas area (at least he did when I was stationed in Sicily 6 months ago) and sent me supplies overseas. Great guy in person too! Enjoy the site, you'll never be without help here.
