I just wanted to say hello to everyone(even Michigan fans-lol) and say that I am very pleased to have found this site. I recently joined this community within the last 3-4 months and truly enjoy all the photos and "tips" submitted by all of you excellent modelers.
I have always been a fan of modelling since I was a kid and unfortunately, like so many others, grew away from it due to college, career and things of that nature. However, I have never really abandoned modelling since I have always read FineScale Modeler and other resources to keep some active interest in the hobby. I have recently been trying to get back into the swing of things, but due to homeownership and long work days in the summer, I have not been able to fully re-immerse myself into modelling. I have about five models in progress and have swore not to start any more until these are complete(lol). I unfortunately have never airbrushed before and would like to start using one to achieve better finishes on my models now in progress. So--Thank God for Ebay--I purchased an air compressor and air brush recently. Now--if I could get the darn thing set up I might be able to become dangerous enough with it to start finishing some models. I will be asking questions in the near future as far as set up and maybe some good beginner techniques. Anyway--after reading several forums on this site--I feel like I can build a museum quality piece already-lol.
My interests in modelling are mainly World War 2 Aviation since I love warbirds and recently I have bought a few of the new armored kits since I have a fascination with some of the unique armor the Germans built during World War 2. Yes--I am one of the crazies who bought a 1/35 K5 "LEOPOLD". I figured since I was single--I could justify adding the extra room to my house to display it in.
A little about me and I will end this babble. I am 37 and live in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio(Just North of Akron). I work in the Engineering Dept. for a local municipality. I am an Engineering Intern and I have intentions of getting my P.E. in Civil Engineering in the near future. I was in the Army National Guard for about 7 years and was activated for Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I spent about 7 months in Saudi Arabia(mainly), Kuwait and Iraq. Our unit drove tractor/trailers and hauled all kinds of armor and engineering equipment from the port of Dahran to the middle of the desert and back after it was over. I play a couple of online games--Fighter Ace(a WW2 flight simulator) and Call of Duty(WW2 combat simulator). I recommend both to all who have an interest in that timeframe! You won't be disappointed--unless you get killed a lot I suppose.
Well--thats enough about me--I am not a big typer so you may not see much of me on the forums--but I will definitely be reading and maybe I will post a few words on occasion. Once again--Hello to All!!!

It is easier for those of us from Michigan to forgive that wingie thingie tendency and I suppose we could cut you some slack on that Buckeye thing too.

Blackwulf,
Welcome from a displaced New Mexicanite now living in your great state. (last year I PCS'd to Wright-Patt. Which puts me within 20 minutes of the Air Force Museum!)
So what is it about those of us in the military building stuff from the other services? You were Army and build wingy-thingys. I am Air Force. I work on aircraft, yet my main interest is armor. Weird.
Anywho, this is the best modeling site in the world. For me it has replaced magazines, and fills the club void since I can't seem to get to the meetings at the local club.
The members are a fantastic group. Any questions you ask will be replied to quickly and frequently. The answers given will provide you with a myriad of ideas and many avenues to take.
Looking forward to seeing your work. Any chance of you making it to the Dayton IPMS contest at Wright State University on September 18th?
Again, welcome to the site and back to the hobby--enjoy!
