When I was a kid back in the late 60's or early 70's I remember a movie set in africa in ww2. a spitfire well I beleive it was a spitfire crash landed it couldnt take off again but it could manuver on the ground an was chased around the desert by a german tank. Would anyone remember this movie? And if so what is the name of it? Cheers Kevin

I think I know the movie you're talking about. I remember a film with Lloyd Bridges as a German tank commander chasing a damaged P-40 that could only taxi around the desert because of some damage. It used to show up on the local stations' afternoon movie before syndicated programming took over.
Aha! I found it on IMDB. The movie I'm thinking of is called "Death Race" (not to be confused with Death Race 2000, which is a completely different beast). According to the site, it's a 1973 made for TV movie.

Ed, I am sure that is the one, I wonder if its on vhs or even dvd with the way they have been putting old movies out these days. Cheers Kevin
