Hi everyone.
Of course I am new here, but I’ve been reading the topics for a while now and realized what I was missing.
I am honored to be part of this community and I will be more than willing to help anyone anyway I can.
I was a Military Police Corporal in São Paulo. The Military Police or “Polícia Militar” patrols the city and is in fact the ostensive police (the army, air force and navy police have different names). Anyhow, now I am a lawyer, I Work for the Eli Lilly do Brasil (anyone from Indianapolis???).
Modeling has become a serious hobby ever since I saw what Shepperd Paine could do in his book about Dioramas back in 1999, before that I used to build them and just wash and dry brush, things I read in Finescale.

Well, too much information for an introduction.
Glad to be part and thanks for those who have welcomed me on others topics!!
See you around. Cheers for Beers

Glad to have you on board Groo! It's great to see more of our international brethren joining up and in with us.
Along with Shep Paine there are numerous others out there that are just as inspiring.

What genre of models do you build Groo? Is it just dios you build?

Thank you.
Nice to be on board.
Hey KKEEFE, if you ever come to Brasil let me buy you a Guiness.
Animal, I feel welcome, very welcome indeed.
Kencelot, PAINE is a master and I mean the storytelling of his Dioramas is (in my view) groundbreaking, unfortunetly I am not very good with names, I´ve seen far better dioramas tha those done by Paine but his Dioramas are truly inspirational, they don´t look expensive, if you know what I mean. :-)
I like armor, Dioramas are a thing that require space and story to tell so, it is what I love but not enoght room. I make figures, aviation on 1/48th scale (not often) and whatever someone asks me to do, formula one etc. I am trying to sculpt some figures, hard, very hard to get acceptabe results. Before anyone asks me I am an armor fan so that is what I do most of the time. Too much info again.. lets take it easy....
War machine I am in for the ryde but I will stop for beers and a good Military story.....

Groo,
Welcome to the site! Make sure you stop in and say hello in the Portuguese forum as well. I am surprised no one from that group has seen this as yet.

Cheers,
Jim

Ciao Fabio, Tuto bene? Io parlo italiano anche. Non è cosi ma io sto studiando. Ciao!
Thanks Jim, I will post there but my first objective here is to get in touch with the international community, I think it is more interesting to get this kind of info and friends first and then go back to meeting the Brazilians and Portuguese speakers. Cheers
And what a fine quote from Aragonés I’ve seen back there, so my callsign actually is self-explanatory.

Thank you all, I am really impressed with this site, it is all about community and people. Congartulations to you all, keep it up. Cheers for Beers!!

Welcome, Groo. I'll be carfeul not to call you a mendicant.

I'm also a lawyer, although I work in America for an American law firm. I don't think there are many of us legal types around here, but they've tolerated me pretty well.

Part-Timer,
Mendicant, Groo is no mendicant whatever it is! Hehehehe….
Groo does what Groo does best. Run Lawyer run!!!! :-)
I guess they accept us (lawyers because sooner or latter they will need us. Despite the fact the reason for some to need a lawyer is to defend from another.
I think we should get more lawyers involved in the site lets sue some guys.
Thank you for welcoming me.

Robert,
Thank you.
Nice to have some cover from formers MPs. Here in Brazil we work the streets, we are trained as Military and regular Law enforcement, counter-guerrila, urban warfare, rural and jungle to. We do all. I was in the Mounted regiment too.
See you around, hopefully I will post some pictures of me in the military stories forum and tell more.
