Jumping the Shark is a phrase that defines a moment (or moments) when a favorite TV show or Movie has reached it's peak - and you know that no matter what happens going forward, it's a downhill slide to the end of the show. Like; when Jeannie married Major Nelson, the musical Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, or when Chrissy left the cast of Three's Company...
This website is a fun place to visit for you TV and Movie fans. Reading some of the poster's comments and thoughts on when The Brady Bunch "jumped the shark" (when Cousin Oliver was introduced ) is hilarious...
I know a lot of you out there are TV/Movie fans - enjoy!

Right, it comes from when the Fonz actually jumped a shark on his motorcycle in one of the Happy Days episodes.

Yep - it is an interesting phrase. Right now I'm reading comments about one of my all-time favorites (The Six Million Dollar Man) and the comments aren't too brutal - but all tend to agree that big hairy Bigfoots, ill-timed mustachios, and the "Bionic Family" can kill a good thing in less than two seasons...
But, then again, the dang Daggit killed it for me in one episode...

That is a great fun website. They published a book not too long ago for the internet illeterate as well. It's amazing how much genuinely BAD TV there has been. and htey don't even cover TV movies and mini-series.
