Hi everyone,

I am a 40 something rookie armour modeler, but a long time aircraft, car and train modeler. I have been reading the posts on the this site for a while, but I have just gotten around to joining. I look forward to learning more from you folks and seeing some great modeling

Welcome onboard Mike. Hope you enjoy your visits here and its great you seen the light and came to play with the big boys and build some armor! Build something and post some progress shots and you´ll find yourself being mobbed with opinions and help. Then you get to know the regulars and get help at the same time! Easiest way to feel at home!

Hey animal, I'm at Delta.

As far as being afraid, I do't think that will be a problem. You guys are pussy cats compared to some sites I have been on.

Howdy kiltman,

A hearty Welcome! goes out to you mate! By your moniker I assume you're from the REALLY far north of England? . As to your entering the Armour modeling ranks, I believe your past experience with the 'wingy thingys' and especially the RR stuff will aid you well when it comes to weathering. So pull up a chair and jump right in! And whatever else you do, don't listen to any of the AC modelers on this site.......they'll just try to lure you BACK to the 'wingy' side of the tracks! (pardon the pun )

Regards,

Tread.

I won't be doing alot of aicraft modeling. The more you work around them, the less I want to build one. I work in the hanger so I see the real ones rebuilt all the time. I have noticed I get pickier about the details until it got to want I didn't get anything finished. It was time for something else.

I understand where you are coming from Mike. I run a fairly large US Army motor pool and have dozens of different types of modern armor at my disposal. At times I like to build straight OOB, at times I get too caught up in accurizing a kit and it gets stuffed in the box.

Right now I've gone back to doing 1/72 scale kits so I can gloss over some details.

Welcome to the site from a 40-something to be.

Welcome to the club, Mike. Age is just a number and it should not stop you from having fun doing what we all commonly like: scale model building.

Once again, welcome aborad.
