I don't know what all the fuss was about- the new Galactica is great!

And this is coming from someone who loved the series (even saw the movie in the theaters!)

I liked the realism - the producers did alot to give a real feel to the series- from little things like the maneuvering jets on the Vipers, to the bridge commands on Galactica, lots of nice touches.

Can't wait for part 2

Edit- saw part 2- Even better!!! what a twist - can't wait for the next miniseries now......

I agree. I wasn't sure I was going to like this "re-imagining" but they have crafted some really nice changes to the plot which both update it and make it more believable.

I have to admit I always had a problem believing that the colonies would be so defenseless against a bunch of Cylon Raiders. In the original show just how long would it have taken to carpet bomb the planet with lasers?

I esspecially liked the scene where the Galactica gets pounded by a nuke!

Me too - I liked it and wondered about all the pre-showing negative hype elsewhere. I got the feeling I was watching "Space Above and Beyond" with the fighter sequences. I liked that. The characters are different than I imagined they'd be - but I like the change(s) so far.

The Colonies did appear stupenously undefended, didn't they...

The only thing that has me wondering still - Gaius Baltar. I really liked the John Colicos portrayal. Not sure what to make of the new character yet...

I felt the same about Gary Oldman's Dr. Zachary Smith - until I saw it all. I liked him in that role in the end...

Oh yeah - the schedule is already available at Sci-Fi Channel's website. I think this was too good of an effort not to launch a series...

The challenge will be to keep the story and characters fresh and interesting - like what happened with Stargate SG-1. I really enjoyed that show's run and hope it continues through as long as the actors want to play the characters...

I haven't seen any dates or mention of when a new BG series will start.

If there is one, I don't think it would start until spring.

I like the new show a lot. But, it really should have been 3 parts.

And, one thing that is dumb, Boomer. That just give you less characters to like. I've seen too many female robots at this point...

Well I too enjoyed the Battlestar Galactica. As I've stated earlier, missed the original show pretty much. Saw a few shows in re-runs not enough to form an opinion. Now me, I think Babylon 5 is the greatest show ever (let alone best Sci-Fi series). Space Above and Beyond...yowsa. I think this show has a potential to be at this level. The trick is..stay away from the cutsie-boo characters like the little Robots in Star Bores and S**k Rodgers. That's for the kids
